Let us put a package together for you, so that you may join the ranks of our regular clients, more than satisfied with having achieved your wish. Just email your preferences so that we can design your dream.

We also offer a range of other custom holidays such as touring safaris, adventure safaris.

The Karoo is our main hunting area because of the abundance of plains game. The variation in topography and vegetation will test your hunting skills to the fullest.

We also have sporting/management group hunts in which the aim is to hunt for below trophy size, female and or broken horn animals. Sixteen species are available in a variety of hunting formats.

We offer the serious hunter a wide variety of trophy animals. Magnificent specimens roam our areas and the quality and quantity are unmatched. Ethical hunting and sustainable utilization is the name of our game.

As a company, we fully appreciate the huge financial implications for most clients coming to hunt in Africa. With this in mind, we are committed to providing the very best quality hunting experience possible. We also guarantee that you will have a really great time and will want to hunt with us again. If your criteria for choosing a safari include "strict ethics of fair chase hunting", then we are the company for you.

The safaris on offer can be classified in two categories namely, regular safaris where a daily rate applies to both hunter and observers, and a trophy fee is charged for each animal taken. The second category would be the special hunting packages which are on offer for a specific season. Bergplaats can help you pick the best category to suit you.

"Father and son" Hunting
What better place to bond with your son than in the bush, where two men can meet on equal terms to take part in the hunt, civilization's oldest means of survival. They can pit their skills against one another and the game, sharing an experience that will be a highlight of their relationship for life.

Together they will stalk game, and exchange wisdoms on preservation of the environment and the lore of hunting. A professional hunter will accompany the father/son group to offer advice and assist in making the hunt a truly memorable experience. This is a great way for a father to pass on his experiences, spend quality time with his son and strengthen their bond. We also encourage women hunters to join in this popular and enjoyable sport.

Observers
We welcome both non-hunters and observers, however we can't guarantee that the observer will definitely see the actual kill due to the element of surprise and varied circumstances in the Karoo.

Game Drives:
Game drives are usually organized on the day of arrival to give the hunter a break after his exhaustive trip. Hunters then get a glimpse of what can be expected on the first day of their hunt - they get a chance to evaluate the veld, observe the density of the bush or height of the grass growing on the farm, the occurrence of game and the climate - ensuring a well-prepared hunt.

Suggested Rifles and Calibres:
This can become a heated debate indeed. The general rule applies in this case, where we suggest you bring the rifle(s) you are most comfortable with. It is important to spend time on the shooting range before your African hunt commences. You will sight your rifles prior to commencing the hunt, however, you must be familiar with your rifle. Apart from the suggested calibres, it is our recommendation that a 30-06 or 300Win Mag and a 375 would cover all your needs sufficiently. Do not think this to be a requirement, it is merely a suggestion.

Taxidermy:
We do not have any financial interests either directly or indirectly in Taxidermy, South Africa or internationally. We are however tasked with the permits and documentation for the exportation of your trophies. Trophies can be shipped from Southern Africa either raw or mounted. In the case of a raw shipment it will be sent to a taxidermist of your choice in your country of origin after being thoroughly treated by a South African taxidermist. The regulations and procedures for exporting varies depending on the species hunted.

Your booking secures you exclusive use of the entire 3500ha (more than 8650 acres) game farm.

Trophy Hunting

"The true trophy hunter is a self-disciplined perfectionist seeking a single animal, the ancient patriarch well past his prime that is often an outcast from his own kind... If successful, he will enshrine the trophy in a place of honor. This is a more noble and fitting end than dying on some lost and lonely ledge where the scavengers will pick his bones, and his magnificent horns will weather away and be lost forever."
